Most fencing advice online is written by people who have never strained a wire. This site is the exception: it belongs to Chainwire Fencing Specialist, a metal fencing and light fabrication company based at Toronto on Lake Macquarie, NSW, operated by Walters Fencing (Aust) Pty Ltd since 2004.
The crew builds chainwire, steel, weldmesh and aluminium fencing across Newcastle, the Hunter and the Central Coast, on everything from backyards to rail corridors, mine sites, schools and racecourses. The guides here are where that experience gets written down: what fence types are actually for, what the NSW rules say, how neighbours split costs without falling out, and how to keep a fence standing for decades.
How we keep it honest
- Rules and regulations are linked to their official sources, and we tell you when something varies by council or state.
- We name trade-offs. Every fence type has them, including the ones we build.
- Where a guide touches a trade we do not do, glass, Colorbond, timber post-and-rail, we say so instead of pretending.
When reading turns into building
If the fence is in the Newcastle, Hunter or Central Coast region and it is metal, the crew that writes this site can build it: request a quote or visit chainwire-fencing.com. Phone 02 4023 5416, email admin@chainwire-fencing.com.
